Investigator Credit Type

 

The Investigator Credit Type maintenance document is used to establish and maintain numeric codes and textual description values which are stored in database tables.  This data serves as reference information that is made available for display and selection in various areas of the system, including other e-docs.  Many schools use credit types to capture the distribution or allocation of F&A revenue, academic credit, space, or other items. Investigator Credit Split may appear in several KC e-docs, or may not appear at all, depending on your institution’s implementation.

Specify the Credit Type Section

The Specify the Credit Type section of the Investigator Credit Type maintenance document is a unique section that allows you to specify and maintain the details associated with the reference table record in fields.

Field

Description

Investigator Credit Type Code

Required.  This is the Numeric value you want to assign to uniquely identify this particular credit type in KC.  The value that uniquely identifies this investigator credit type in the system and serves as an abbreviated reference for the actual name appears in the Description field.

Is Active

Select to make active this credit type in the system, clear to deactivate it and save it for future use.  Click within the checkbox to select the item.  A check mark appears within the checkbox to indicate the item is selected.  Click within the checkbox again to clear the mark and deselect the item.

Description

The text that explains the purpose or meaning of the credit type as it is commonly referred to.  Enter the text that names the credit type as it is known in your institution.  Click the add note  icon to view/edit/paste text in a new browser window, then click the continue button to return to the text entry field in the document.

Adds to Hundred

Select the checkbox to make this credit type add to hundred, clear to prevent it from adding to hundred.  Check to require line item values add up to 100%.  Click within the checkbox to select the item.  A check mark appears within the checkbox to indicate the item is selected.  Click within the checkbox again to clear the mark and deselect the item.
