Protocol Type

The Protocol Type maintenance document is used to establish and maintain numeric codes and textual description values which are stored in database tables.  This data serves as reference information that is made available for display and selection in various areas of the system, including other e-docs.

The values in the Protocol Type maintenance table appear for selection within the Protocol Type field within the IRB protocol. The Kuali Coeus system makes it mandatory to select a protocol type prior to even creating the IRB protocol in the system. An indicator is provided for each protocol type to control whether it will be displayed only to IRB Administrators or both researchers and IRB Administrators.

Existing Value Modification:  Existing values may be edited as long as the description is synonymous with the original term.  New values can be added.  You should not delete existing values.
