IACUC Protocol Review Type

The IACUC Protocol Review Type maintenance document is used to establish and maintain numeric codes and textual description values which are stored in database tables.  This data serves as reference information that is made available for display and selection in various areas of the system, including other e-docs.

The values in the IACUC Protocol Review Type maintenance table are available for selection within the Submission Review Type dropdown field within Protocol Actions/Request an Action/Submit for Review for the researcher. The Kuali Coeus application provides a control such that an institute can choose to display a protocol review type for selection only for the researcher or for both researchers and the IACUC administrator. IACUC Administrators can modify the Submission Review Type through the “Modify Submission Request” panel.

Researcher View versus Administrator View: The IACUC Protocol Review Type reference table can be configured to control which values are available only to the administrators and which are available to both administrators and researchers. The Global Flag indicator can be set to Yes or No for each value within IACUC Protocol Review Type. A Global Flag value of Yes indicates that the Protocol Review Type e.g. Full Committee Review is available to both administrators and researchers. A Global Flag value of No indicates that the Protocol Review Type e.g. IACUC Review Not Required is available only for administrators.

Existing Value Modification:  Existing values may be edited as long as the description is synonymous with the original term.  New values can be added.  You should not delete existing values.
