Overview
Progressive navigation is a feature of the 6.0 release. When you opt to create a new budget, you select creating a detailed or summary budget. If the proposal sponsor is maintained in the NIH sponsor hierarchy, you will be asked if your budget will be a modular submission. The selections determine what screen is presented to you when that newly created budget opens. If you selected Summary Budget, your budget will open on the Periods & Totals screen where you will enter the direct and indirect totals for each budget period and then complete the budget. If you selected Detailed Budget, your budget will open to the Project Personnel screen to review and define your budget personnel prior to assigning them to periods, and then you can use the proposal footer navigation buttons to ‘save & continue’ to the next screen. If you clicked the Modular box, then the navigation will include the modular budget screen in your progressive navigation. A user can override the progressive navigation by manually clicking on the left navigation buttons.
