The system default creates 12-month budget periods. Use Add Budget Period to create budget periods to suit your proposal submission. Depending on the changes, you may want to delete the existing periods, because the added periods must remain within the pre-defined proposal start and end dates. Or you may wish to start by editing the existing periods start/end dates.
Ø You cannot adjust the start date to a date prior to the proposal’s start date.
Ø You cannot adjust the end date to a date later than the proposal’s end date.
Start by editing the existing budget periods to match the new period dates:
o Click the Edit button in the Action column at the end of the period row to adjust.
Ø Click in the Period Start or End Date field to activate it.
Ø You may manually edit the date by deleting the current date and typing in the change in MM/DD/YYYY format, or manipulate the Calendar tool to select the month, date, and year. Once a date is selected the tool will close, otherwise click the ‘close’ button or anywhere outside the calendar to close the tool.
Ø Click the Save button at the end of the row in the Action column, otherwise click Cancel. The Months column will update with the count of months in the period.
o Edit and adjust the other existing period rows, or Delete them, as appropriate.
o Click the +Add Budget Period button to insert a period; it will generate in a new window.
Ø Enter the Period Start Date & Period End date. If desired, you may enter cost limits in this step.
Ø Click Add Budged Period at the bottom of the window, otherwise click cancel to close the window.
o Click the Save button in the footer
